Welcome to My Teaching Artist Practice!

As a visual artist and educator, one of the greatest joys in my work is teaching the art of seeing. I work with students across a range of learning environments—from private sessions to classrooms and community programs—guiding them through creative exploration and the process of making.

My teaching approach uses everyday analogies and experiential learning to help students connect art to their lives. Through this process, they build essential skills in observation, critical thinking, and reflection.

I believe art is a visual language—a powerful vehicle that empowers and inspires students across language and cultural barriers, offering them a way to communicate and connect beyond words. Students have told me that making art helps them take their minds off the stresses of their day. Others have shared that they discovered a creative side of themselves they didn’t know existed. Building meaningful connections with each student is essential to my practice. I create inclusive spaces that honor individual learning styles, support self-discovery, and encourage creative independence.

Creating a space where students feel safe to explore materials freely helps them gain the confidence to express themselves and shape their own artistic journeys. I offer guidance and instruction in a variety of mediums, tailoring lessons to their interests while supporting technical growth and creative confidence.

A key component of my practice is working with middle school students applying to New York City’s specialized art high schools. I teach foundational observation drawing—a core requirement for portfolio development—and guide students through the artistic admissions process. Lessons are customized to align with the schools’ expectations as well as the student’s personal voice. I’m proud to have a 100% success rate, with all of my students accepted into the schools of their choice.

I invite you to return often, as new student work is regularly added to the gallery.
